In Perfect Doc Studio, every document design goes through a structured versioning workflow to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality before it reaches production. This workflow is supported by three dedicated environments: Draft, Testing and Published. Each stage plays a specific role in validating and approving the document.
Versioning ensures that all versions of a document are maintained in a single place, making it easy to track changes, compare revisions and revert when needed.
Draft
The Draft environment is the starting point for all document designs. Here, designers create and refine the template until it is ready for review. This stage is purely for design and configuration work.
Testing
Once a document enters the Testing environment, it undergoes functional and visual validation. Testers can review the output, verify data mapping, and ensure that the document behaves correctly. After testing is complete, the document can be forwarded for approval.
Published
This is the final approval stage. Users with the Publisher role evaluate the document and decide whether it can be promoted to production.
If approved, the document is published to the live environment.
If rejected, publishers can provide comments explaining the reason for rejection and list the required changes.
